Rolling Tones hosts 2 recitals per year. One in the Winter and one in the Summer.
Why are Public Performances encouraged?
1. Students have the opportunity to share their art with others who are working just as hard to polish and perfect their craft. Public performance shows where the learning disconnect is and how to fortify that in future studies.
2. Students develop a sense of community when inspiring each other to set new performance goals while reflecting on how far they have come in their learning process. It also is an opportunity to let students socialize and form new friendships and bonds.
3. Receiving genuine praise and affirmation from an adoring crowd after a performance renews a student's sense of accomplishment and self-esteem.
4. Students have the opportunity to practice emotion regulation in a safe environment while under performance pressure. This prepares students to build skills to overcome nervousness in the moment-- which is necessary for any kind of public speaking or public presence situations.
Recorded Performances
(Required if Opting Out of Recital)
Why record?
Students who are overwhelmed by social and performanceanxiety when sharing vulnerable parts of their learning process with others may want to keep their growth process private.
Recording provides a tangible chronicle of that growth while continuing to highlight where the student exceeds expectations and where they may need a new approach.
